I had the pleasure of attending the Innovative Beads Expo  on 12/02/12. It was held in   The Chase Center on the Riverfront 815 Justison St, Wilmington, DE 19801      It's located right next to the Daniel S. Frawley Stadium     Home of the Wilmington MLB Team Blue Rocks I checked out many different vendors, and one of the vendors I visited and purchased from is Kabela Design  (also on Facebook and Twitter) . I settled on some cool filigree cones (I'll do a project with those later), and this cute yellow faceted cube     It was wrapped in filigree that Kabela Design calls Lovely.    Here it is from the top side.   I bought some Vintaj Parawire from Millville, NJ's Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago (40% off the listed price of $4.99)   I cut off three pieces of wire and wrapped them 3/4 of the way around a ring mandrel, to match my size of 7 1/2. Quickie DIY: Wrapped Glass Bead Ring

Image
The weather was not so good this past weekend, and I've been admiring wire wrapping projects online and in books and magazines, so I decided to make a wire wrapped ring that used one of my beads from broken jewelry.   I had some Artistic Wire that I bought about a month ago, and wrapped it arund my ring mandrel twice.  Then, I made the loops to secure the bead wire my round-nosed pliers.   I wrapped some fine gauge silver wire under the loop, and threaded it through the left loop.     I threaded it through the bead and pulled it taught. Then, through the other loop.     I wrapped the remaining portion of the wire down the other side and around the bead, and secured the tail.     Here it is from the top.   It took me a about 30 minutes to wrap the ring. Not too bad. I guess it's time to get more inspiration.

Quicky DIY: Dalmation Jasper Sterling Silver Ring

I decided to do another ring "DIY" project this past weekend. I bought these three items from Hobby Lobby in Millville, NJ on 04/18/12: Amazing E-6000 Clear Adhesive ($3.99) , Sterling Silver Adjustable Ring #227850 (was $11.99, on clearance for $7.19) and Traditions Gallery Dalmation Jasper Pendant ($3.99) I glued the ring (it's Sterling.... it has the .925 stamped on the inside) to one side of the Dalmation Jasper pendant, just like what I did with the Unakite pendant. I let it cure overnight. Then, I cut off the bail (shown below). Ta dah!!!!! All done. I made another sterling silver "statement ring" for a total of $15.17, and it's a one-of-a-kind. Saint Salvage strikes again!!!!
