Quickie DIY: A Cat Friendly Small Entryway with a Bookcase

Image
I live in a two story townhouse, with next-to-no entryway. I had a small plastic organizer there before that became a messy area that my two cats would climb all over. They would knock things down, too. I also have books that I wanted to organize in my small place. So..... I called ahead to one of my favorite thrift stores,  Glassboro Thrift Village . Not only did they have "lots" of bookcases, but they were having a 30% off sale for furniture! Whoo hoo!!!! I drove the 45 minute ride, and settled on one that was $50 before the 30% off, which worked out to be $35, plus tax. It has five shelves, plus a nice top for the kitties. My son and I brought it home, moved the plastic organizer, and set up the bookcase. I cleaned it, filled it with my books, and put their bet bed on the bottom shelf, and a fuzzy blanket that they like on the top of the bookcase. My female cat, Sydney, approved of it! I also have plenty of room!!!

Organizing my Makeup: Using Z-Palette Pro

Image
I decided to organize my makeup... I have a Profusion Cosmetics "Smoky", which is a great dupe for Urban Decay's   "Naked 2"  palette.   I also have their "Bare" palette, which is a great dupe for Urban Decay's "Naked" "Naked"  palette.  Here's the  "Berry" palette, also from Profusion. I paid $5 for it at my local Five Below. So..... I bought a Z-Palette , in the  Pro Size, in leopard . It's magnetic!  So, I depotted them. I cut the Profusion palettes apart. I depotted a Tarte palette, by putting in the oven, at 275 degrees F, for about 20 minutes. Here"s what it looked like. The plastic is all ripply. The shadows were removed easily after a minute of cooling. Here's what it looks like all filled up. I need to get another Z-Palette because I still have more to organize.

Quickie DIY: Pool Noodle Float to Boot Storage

Image
It's that time of the year for me: rotate seasonal clothes. So... after cleaning my boots, I had to find something to store them.                                                            Ah ha!!!! Pool noodles!   I went to my local Five Below store, and bought 2 noodles for $1 each.   I cut each one into quarters, and inserted a quarter into each boot.  Easy-peasy, and cheap!

I found this great flowchart on the wonderful Pinterest. Of course, I can't find the original creator of it, but it's a perfect summary of how to clean and organize my closet. I think it needs no further explaining.
