Golden Sculpey Clay Cuff Bangle Bracelet with Upcycled Vintage Pin Focal

Image
I inherited a vintage pin with a broken pinback. Oh, what to do? I decided to make it a focal point to a golden swirled Sculpey Clay cuff style bangle bracelet. Step 1: Prepare the pinback I turned over this pinback and broke of the remaining bits of the pin, but I left the brackets that hold the pin. I really liked the detailing with the faux gold and faux pearls! Step 2: Prepare the clays I had three different colors of Sculpey Premo Accent Golds: 18k Gold, Antique Gold, and Gold. I chopped them into pieces, and swirled them, flatten them several times.  Here's the  link  to the colors. Step 3: Make the Cuff I rolled the clay to match up with the size of the premo! Sculpey® Cuff Bracelet .  It's a reuseable metal form to make cuffs.  Then, I set some broken "pearl chain" into the borders of the cuff.  After that. I took the broken brooch and embedded into the clay.  Step 4: Bake, Cool and Enjoy I baked the cuff and t

Rubber Heavy Duty Car Floor mats are great under cat boxes

Image
We have two cat boxes for our two cats, and we were tired of constantly sweeping up cat litter. Eew.... Yuck. So, while I was out at my local Walmart, I spied a set of heavy duty car floor mats for $16.96.   Here they are in use. Happy, happy, happy! To clean, wash and go.

Review: Killer Queen Fragrance by Katy Perry

Image
She keeps her Moet and Chandon is a pretty cabinet.... I received a sample of Katy Perry's "Killer Queen" . It arrived on a fold-out postcard. This is the outside of the card. I removed my address.  I like that it has a QR code.... scan it with your smart phone (I used Scanlife), and it takes you to the website. This is the inside of the card. To sample, peel off on side of the blister packet. One to try today, and another to try tomorrow. The sample swab can be used to freshen a drawer or your car. Here's the scent breakdown: Top Notes: Dark Plum, Wild Berry, Bergamot Middle Notes: Natural Jasmine Sambac, Rainbow Plumeria, Red Velvet Flower Base Notes: Cashmeran, Natural Patchouli Heart, Liquid Praline I found that it's warm, cozy and sensual. Feminine and empowering. Gourmand and yummy. It smells similar to Viktor and Rolf's "Flowerbomb", similar to Beyonce's "Heat", and similar to Rihanna's

Review: Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick: Catfight

Image
I am one of countless members of  Sephora 's VIB Club. I had earned over 100 points, and the clerk asked me if wanted to redeem points for a sample. I spied the sample of  Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick, in "Catfight" . Of course, I opted to redeem my points!  So..... this is the outside of the card that was holding the lipstick. This is the inside of the card that was holding the lipstick. This is what it looks like. Nice packaging! Catfight is a punchy, fuschia. Here's what Sephora has to say about the line: " What it is:  A luxury lipstick that delivers intense color payoff plus creamy shine.   What it does: Revolution Lipstick is rich, buttery lipstick at its best—with the signature Urban Decay pigment-rich color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), Revolution Lipstick glides on without dragging or skipping and hugs every curve. Just one swipe gives you a big, gorgeous lay down of color. And with

Project Refashionista: Boho Circle Top Downsizing

Image
I bought a pretty boho light and airy circle top early this summer at a thrift shop for $3. I really love the fun, girly print, the lacy collar, the buttons down the front, and how light and floaty it is. But.... it is a circle style cut, and very tent-ish. So.... here's the before. I turned it inside out, and cut down the side seams, freeing the sleeves from being fully attached. I also cut out a bunch of volume. Then, I sewed up each side of the top, and down the underside seam of each sleeve, all while making sure the hems of the sleeves and the hem of the top all lined up. Here's what the after looks like on. It's still loose and airy, but NOT tent-ish. It went from being a size petite XL to a petite L. Here's how it looks on the hanger. It's perfect with skinny jeans! Saint Salvage strikes again!

Review: Mary Kay® True Dimensions™ Lipstick Mystic Plum

Image
I am a member of  People Style Watch Style Hunters.  It's a great sampling and review program!  I had the pleasure of RSVP-ing for a sample of  Mary Kay® True Dimensions™ Lipstick, in the color Mystic Plum, #2026. It's an on-trend fall berry color. Here's the color name: Here's the tube from the side. Sleek, silver and modern. I'm sucker for great packaging.   To open the tube, push down on that clear center. After you pull the clear top down, the inner tube slides down, and then you pull out that tube. Check out the bullet color. Thankfully, it's not too dark and vampy. I'm very pale-skinned, and "Goth" just doesn't work for me. A swatch on my forearm. The color went on smoothly, with my skipping, pulling or dragging. Here's how it looks in daylight, looking in my parked car's driver's side mirror. It didn't have an obvious scent or flavor. It felt balmy, and very light a
