Review: Tarte Energy Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint

Image
Before Christmas, I was asked what I wanted to receive for a Christmas gift. So, went around to both Sephora and Ulta to swatch different cosmetics. I came across the sampler "Try Me" size of Tarte Energy LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint  and swatched it on the back of my hand. I really liked how it looked, so I asked for it for Christmas.   Happily, I received it for Christmas!   Here's what I looked like before application:  Here's it what I look like immediately after application:   This is a close up after a few minutes. According to the Tarte website, it changes color by the skin pH. I really like it, because it gives me a perky, bright pink, along with a light, mighty flavor. The tint lasts through some eating and drinking too!

Review: Killer Queen Fragrance by Katy Perry

Image
She keeps her Moet and Chandon is a pretty cabinet.... I received a sample of Katy Perry's "Killer Queen" . It arrived on a fold-out postcard. This is the outside of the card. I removed my address.  I like that it has a QR code.... scan it with your smart phone (I used Scanlife), and it takes you to the website. This is the inside of the card. To sample, peel off on side of the blister packet. One to try today, and another to try tomorrow. The sample swab can be used to freshen a drawer or your car. Here's the scent breakdown: Top Notes: Dark Plum, Wild Berry, Bergamot Middle Notes: Natural Jasmine Sambac, Rainbow Plumeria, Red Velvet Flower Base Notes: Cashmeran, Natural Patchouli Heart, Liquid Praline I found that it's warm, cozy and sensual. Feminine and empowering. Gourmand and yummy. It smells similar to Viktor and Rolf's "Flowerbomb", similar to Beyonce's "Heat", and similar to Rihanna's...

Review: Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick: Catfight

Image
I am one of countless members of  Sephora 's VIB Club. I had earned over 100 points, and the clerk asked me if wanted to redeem points for a sample. I spied the sample of  Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick, in "Catfight" . Of course, I opted to redeem my points!  So..... this is the outside of the card that was holding the lipstick. This is the inside of the card that was holding the lipstick. This is what it looks like. Nice packaging! Catfight is a punchy, fuschia. Here's what Sephora has to say about the line: " What it is:  A luxury lipstick that delivers intense color payoff plus creamy shine.   What it does: Revolution Lipstick is rich, buttery lipstick at its best—with the signature Urban Decay pigment-rich color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), Revolution Lipstick glides on without dragging or skipping and hugs every curve. Just one swipe gives you a big, gorgeous lay down of color. And with...

Review: Mary Kay® True Dimensions™ Lipstick Mystic Plum

Image
I am a member of  People Style Watch Style Hunters.  It's a great sampling and review program!  I had the pleasure of RSVP-ing for a sample of  Mary Kay® True Dimensions™ Lipstick, in the color Mystic Plum, #2026. It's an on-trend fall berry color. Here's the color name: Here's the tube from the side. Sleek, silver and modern. I'm sucker for great packaging.   To open the tube, push down on that clear center. After you pull the clear top down, the inner tube slides down, and then you pull out that tube. Check out the bullet color. Thankfully, it's not too dark and vampy. I'm very pale-skinned, and "Goth" just doesn't work for me. A swatch on my forearm. The color went on smoothly, with my skipping, pulling or dragging. Here's how it looks in daylight, looking in my parked car's driver's side mirror. It didn't have an obvious scent or flavor. It felt balmy, and very light a...

Organizing my Makeup: Using Z-Palette Pro

Image
I decided to organize my makeup... I have a Profusion Cosmetics "Smoky", which is a great dupe for Urban Decay's   "Naked 2"  palette.   I also have their "Bare" palette, which is a great dupe for Urban Decay's "Naked" "Naked"  palette.  Here's the  "Berry" palette, also from Profusion. I paid $5 for it at my local Five Below. So..... I bought a Z-Palette , in the  Pro Size, in leopard . It's magnetic!  So, I depotted them. I cut the Profusion palettes apart. I depotted a Tarte palette, by putting in the oven, at 275 degrees F, for about 20 minutes. Here"s what it looked like. The plastic is all ripply. The shadows were removed easily after a minute of cooling. Here's what it looks like all filled up. I need to get another Z-Palette because I still have more to organize.

Review: Rebelle by Rihanna for women Eau de Parfum

Image
Here's my latest fragrance obsession: Rebelle by Rihanna for women Eau de Parfum I tried it last night (12/20), because a huge display was near the checkout area at my local Sears. I normally tend to stay away from "celebrity" fragrances, but the bottle caught my eye. I sprayed it on, and at first.... wow! Very intense. Sexual. It is definitely a gourmand, with with cacao, coffee, patchouli and an almond/ marzipan and ginger layer to it. Quite complex. It definitely smells similar to Thierry Mugler's Angel. I found a bottle today at my local Walmart, and it was listed is $19.99 for 1 oz, but it had a $5 off coupon.... the last one on the shelf! I definitely give it 2 thumbs up! I left this same review on Fragrantica . It seems like other people agree with me. It's awesome.

Profusion Cosmetics Dupes for Urban Decay's Naked Palette at Five Below?

Image
I went to Five Below this weekend with my teenage boys, and I found two palettes from Profusion "Bare" and Smokey".     Profusion Cosmetics "Bare" Palette and "Smokey" Palette on Five Below     Pretty darn close to UD "Naked" and "Naked2", at $5 each, with 10 shadows in each. Any thoughts?   Urban Decay's Naked Palette (on Sephora) Urban Decay's Naked2 Palette (on Sephora) Other bloggers have reviewed similar Profusion palettes: Nouveau Cheap NeutraKris Making up the MW
