Review: Tarte Energy Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint

Image
Before Christmas, I was asked what I wanted to receive for a Christmas gift. So, went around to both Sephora and Ulta to swatch different cosmetics. I came across the sampler "Try Me" size of Tarte Energy LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint  and swatched it on the back of my hand. I really liked how it looked, so I asked for it for Christmas.   Happily, I received it for Christmas!   Here's what I looked like before application:  Here's it what I look like immediately after application:   This is a close up after a few minutes. According to the Tarte website, it changes color by the skin pH. I really like it, because it gives me a perky, bright pink, along with a light, mighty flavor. The tint lasts through some eating and drinking too!

Review: Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick: Catfight

Image
I am one of countless members of  Sephora 's VIB Club. I had earned over 100 points, and the clerk asked me if wanted to redeem points for a sample. I spied the sample of  Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick, in "Catfight" . Of course, I opted to redeem my points!  So..... this is the outside of the card that was holding the lipstick. This is the inside of the card that was holding the lipstick. This is what it looks like. Nice packaging! Catfight is a punchy, fuschia. Here's what Sephora has to say about the line: " What it is:  A luxury lipstick that delivers intense color payoff plus creamy shine.   What it does: Revolution Lipstick is rich, buttery lipstick at its best—with the signature Urban Decay pigment-rich color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), Revolution Lipstick glides on without dragging or skipping and hugs every curve. Just one swipe gives you a big, gorgeous lay down of color. And with...

Review: Mary Kay® True Dimensions™ Lipstick Mystic Plum

Image
I am a member of  People Style Watch Style Hunters.  It's a great sampling and review program!  I had the pleasure of RSVP-ing for a sample of  Mary Kay® True Dimensions™ Lipstick, in the color Mystic Plum, #2026. It's an on-trend fall berry color. Here's the color name: Here's the tube from the side. Sleek, silver and modern. I'm sucker for great packaging.   To open the tube, push down on that clear center. After you pull the clear top down, the inner tube slides down, and then you pull out that tube. Check out the bullet color. Thankfully, it's not too dark and vampy. I'm very pale-skinned, and "Goth" just doesn't work for me. A swatch on my forearm. The color went on smoothly, with my skipping, pulling or dragging. Here's how it looks in daylight, looking in my parked car's driver's side mirror. It didn't have an obvious scent or flavor. It felt balmy, and very light a...

Tom Ford Wild Ginger Dupe + Vintage Lipstick Case Refill

Image
I was inspired by Va-Voom Vintage's Vintage Lipstick Refill Tutorial: How to refill a vintage lipstick tube   Va-Voom Vintage's "BEFORE"     Va-Voom Vintage's "AFTER" I also had a washer/dryer accident with my dupe for Tom Ford's "Wild Ginger" lipstick . It was melted all over the clothes in the dryer! Sniff.... Instead of crying over melted lipstick, I went into my vintage lipstick collection. I have a tube from Revlon's "Futurama" collection. The color inside was Lustrous Lipstick, named "Queen of Diamonds", similar to "Schiap" by Nars.       So, here's what I did. I bought a brand new tube of Revlon's Colorstay Ultimate Suede in 075, Cruise Collection. I wanted a great dupe of the Wild Ginger to fit into the vintage tube. I froze the whole tube for 3 - 4 hours. I also sanitized the vintage Colorama tube.   I unscrewed the tube all the way after freezing, and...

The Hunt for the Perfect Dupe for Tom Ford's Wild Ginger Lipstick

Image
I am like a lot of other cosmetics-crazed females. We get obsessed with certain things of beauty, and won't rest until we get it.       I developed an unrequited long-distance love affair with Tom Ford's Private Blend lipstick in "Wild Ginger". I kept seeing it in different fashion magazine, taunting me.   (as seen in Allure Magazine ) I saw it on other blogs. I spotted this in Lauren's Beauty Blog: I found this in Fruity Beauty : I found this one on Design Scene: Ack!!!! I was seeing it everywhere. I felt that I was excluded from a special, elite club; one that shops at Nordstrom (source of the photo below), and can drop $48.00 on a lipstick. Of course, there are plenty of fans of Wild Ginger on Pinterest So, I began the quest for the "Perfect Dupe". This Revlon Colorburst in Coral is on Amazon . Of course, I can't swipe it. I went to Ulta, and I saw these from Revlon.... can't swipe them. ...
