Trip to Philadelphia, PA to Theatre of Living Arts to see RATT

Image
I am a child of the 80s. I love hard rock and metal music, and have for quite some time. I have a local radio station that I adore,  103.7 WMGM Rocks  and I had the luck to win RATT tickets from them. I have been a fan of RATT  since I first saw "Round and Round"  on MTV in 1984. So.... Fast forward to March of 2017. I called and won tickets when I answered a trivia contest through 103.7. My 1980s fangrrl was super-happy when I collected my tickets. I was so excited about going to the show! I made my  black lace "vegan leather" top  and paired it with a black "laser cut" "vegan leather" jacket, chain belt, black "vegan leather" pants and knee-high suede boots.     My older son went with me on April 27, 2017. We went to  The Strange and Unusual Oddities Parlor Then, we went to the  Eye's Gallery         Then, we waited in line to get inside the  Theatre of Living Arts ...

Black Lace and Vegan Leather Lingerie Inspired Refashion

Image
This refashion is a composite of: a tacky black and pink negligee with a bra top, a black "leather" floral tank top, a vintage "merry widow", and a black "leather" stretchy skirt. All of these items were purchased dirty cheap separately over the last two years, and I set them aside for the right inspiration to repurpose them.  The foundation of this top is the tacky, ruffled negligee pictured below. The bra fits great, so it will be great for support and keeping the top in place. Then, I chopped off the sheer "skirt" part of the negligee. It was itchy, anyway. Next...... I pinned the black "leather" lace top and centered it over the bra. I sewed them together after I was sure that it ...

Negligee to Victoria's Secret Style Bra Refashion

Image
I was out "hunting" at my local Goodwill store, and I spotted this set that was on sale for $3.99, and it's color tag was half off. It was new with tags, but it had a huge rip in the front. It came with an adorable thong that gave me an inspiration. I would turn the negligee into a bra. This is the back, before. I started off with cutting off the bottom, leaving the bra. Here's a side view. This is the back. I cut the lacy, frilly bottom off the negligee, and pinned it and sewed it to the bra. Last, I opened up the hook end of the bra, to finish sewing the extra frill into place. Here's the finished bra, front view. This is the back view.
