LOUIS VUITTON Poche Portfolio Document Case

Image
I have a Louis Vuitton Monogrammed Portfolio (Document Case) that I purchased at the Rev. Eleanor V. Melton estate sale a couple of years ago. I get loads of compliments on it. As far as I know, it's authentic. I plan to look up the kind folks at The Purseblog Forum. I am also interesting in adding my name to add to it. Anybody know how to do this? It measures (LxHxD): 15.3" x 11" / 29cm x 28cm. It has the Monogram canvas (one piece) that is upside down on one side, and right side up on the other.  It has a loop handle, shiny golden brass pieces, and a zipper closure that runs along the top and one side. It has a burgundy leather lining, with a pocket sewn on.

Quicky DIY: Converting Clip earrings to French Hook Earrings

Image
Here's another "quicky" DIY that I did last weekend. I bought opal clip on earrings from the Millville Goodwill store for $1.99. I bought a "Flower Ear Wire" French Hook ("The Jewelry Store; #124057L) at the Millville Hobby Lobby for .88 (Original price was $1.47) Here they are, out of the package. The ear hooks came with those nice rubber stoppers. I took the clips off with my pliers, and then opened the tiny jump ring, and attached the jump ring to the ear wires. Ta dah!!!! The finished product! Saint Salvage strikes again for $2.87 (plus tax)!

DIY: Sterling Silver and Unakite Ring

Image
I decided to do a couple of "DIY" projects this past weekend while recovering from an outpatient medical procedure. I bought these three items from Hobby Lobby in Millville, NJ on 04/18/12: Amazing E-6000 Clear Adhesive ($3.99) , Sterling Silver Adjustable Ring #227850 (was $11.99, on clearance for $7.19) and Traditions Natural Gallery's Unakite Pendant ($3.99) I glued the ring (see.... it's Sterling.... it has the .925 stamped on the inside) to one side of the Unakite pendant. I let it cure overnight. Then, I cut off the bail. Ta dah!!!!! All done. I made a sterling silver "statement ring" for a total of $15.17, and it's a one-of-a-kind. Saint Salvage strikes again!!!!

Road test: Cargo Swimmables Waterproof Eye Pencil Kit

Image
I received a coupon from Ulta which gave $10 off for buying $50 of more. So.... I went with my son's girlfriend, and I bought a Cargo "Swimmables Waterproof Eye Pencil Kit" (Taylor ended up getting goodies that met the rest of the coupon). This kit is billed as a "Limited Edition: The kit includes 4 hot shades: Deep Teal, Dark Pewter, Royal Blue and Popsicle Purple." It cost $19 + tax for the set of full-sized liners. Ulta's Link to Cargo Swimmables Kit I work on a construction site, so I always am looking for long-lasting/ waterproof products. It was hot and humid yesterday (highs in the low 80s). So..... I decided to give the "Deep Teal" a "road test" at work. I applied this at 5AM, and took it off at 10PM after a WARM day (highs in the low 80s). Pros: Good Variety of Colors, Easy Removal, Easy To Apply, Long Lasting, Good Pigmentation, Smooth Look, Good Colors Best Uses: Sensitive Eyes, Going Out, Everyday, Bottom Line: ...

H&M lusting....

Image
I saw previews of the H&M "Fashion Against AIDS" collection, and of course.... I want.  I hope they'll be available at my local H&M in NJ, because they're not available online. (Grrr.....) H&M Fashion Against AIDS

Playin' with Polish: Revlon Polishes = Tanicure

Image
I was interested in going from a dark manicure to a light one last night, so I used two polishes..... I started off with Revlon Colorstay "Bare Bones #300" (above). Then, I added a coat of Revlon's Fast Dry "230 Popular" (it's a pale pinky-peach with different sizes of glitter). It's a nice, early spring combo.....

Lovin' my vintage Coach "Willis" bag

Image
Isn't interesting that Coach is getting back to its classier and historic roots? I guess they're tired of riding the wave of conspicuous consumption "logo whores"? I'm really glad they are. I do like a quality label, but I don't like the things I own to BROADCAST it. Hello.... tacky!!!! Anyway.... I have a 1993 Coach bag (in British tan) in my personal collection (photo below). I added a modern chocolate leather Coach tag and a modern Coach ladybug charm for a little bit of fun color. I've had this bag for several years now, so I wanted to verify that it was real. So, I hit up Purseblogforum . Below is a close-up photo of my creed, with serial number of A9C-9927. I found one that is darker than mine being sold on eBay Authentic COACH Medium Brown Leather STATION WILLIS Brief Bag Anyway..... I am so thrilled that I bought this bag at an estate sale a couple years back for $10. The "New Willis" bags are going for $298.00 + tax....

Gluten Free Chocolate Sunflower Peeps Cake

Image
My gluten free Easter cake, inspired by the cake I saw on  Frugal Girls: the Easy Peasy Sunflower Cake . I also pinned it on  Pinterest . So..... here it is..... I got a container of Betty Crocker's Rich & Creamy frosting, in Milk Chocolate, two boxes of yellow Peeps, and a box of Betty Crocker's GF Mix in Devil's Food.  I baked the cake per the instructions in a Pyrex mixing bowl to get a rounded edge on the cake. I unmolded it, and allowed it to cool. I cut the cake so it would sit flat. Then, I iced it....... and surrounded it with Peeps. Then, I dusted it with all the loose sugar that fell off the Peeps. Ta dah!!!!! All done.

Rough Draft of my Saint Salvage Business Card

Image
I just designed a business card, from a template from Shabbyblogs . I know the card is a little busy, but I wanted to include all my networking sources. Can anyone give me an honest critique?

Shameless plug: Saint Salvage online store

I am now peddling my wares on Storenvy. SaintSalvage on Storenvy Here's the 4-1-1: Saint Salvage of NJ is all about finding unique and vintage goodies. I have enjoyed "bright shiny objects", since I was a little girl in the 70s. I love going through estate sales, yard sales, and flea markets. When I travel, I hunt at thrift stores, consignment shops, vintage stores and through online “swapping sites”. So here I am, being ecofriendly by giving these vintage and sometimes upcycled items new life.  I am attempting to sell some of these “bright shiny objects”, and to provide a cheerful shopping experience for you. Each item I carefully select to sell, and provide an honest description of everything. In my shop, you'll find quality costume jewelry as well as some finer pieces. Browse around, and check back often, since I've just begun! I want you to be just as excited when your “Saint Salvage” "present to yourself” arrives as when you discovered it. My hop...
